Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it, too?
Now you can welcome one of the culinary world’s most beloved personalities to your home, party, gala, or other event! As Julia Child, Catherine Cook will recreate an actual episode of Bon Appetit, all while singing and baking a real cake (specifically Le Gateau au Chocolate L’eminence Brune).
Having performed the piece at the Sun Valley Music Festival and in several venues for Opera Parallèle, among others, Catherine has been the go-to for the one-act opera by Lee Hoiby for almost a decade. Audiences of all ages delight in her masterful, playful, and uncannily realistic reenactment – and getting to eat the cake afterward is always a favorite plus.
The piece travels easily, and is readily adapted to the home, kitchen, stage, or restaurant. Upon request, Cook will supply the costume, prop list, and additional details.
